Arrowood Development reached out to MC Smith Signs to help create an for their new1925 Townhome project at the Bend Golf Club.

MC Smith and Arrowood have worked together on a variety of high-end projects from the Tartan Druim and Tripleknot developments at Tetherow to the PointsWest and milepost One communities at the Inn of the Seventh Mountain.

For the 1925 project, Arrowood was looking for a monument sign that would complement the aesthetics of the project. Utilizing a similar family of high-quality materials, colors, and build styles to the surrounding residential structures our team created a striking monument sign that feels at home in its environment. The large number “1925” which is, in fact, a date, is a bright yellow powder-coated set of cut metal letters. This eye-catching detail conveys an important message to the visitor: the year the Bend Golf Club was founded.

As the story goes, in 1925 several local businesses, with ties to the Brooks-Scanlon and Shevlin-Hixon Lumber companies, purchased the land on the then south outskirts of town to build Bend’s first golf club

.For the monument sign, the team at MC Smith started with a masonry base to match the stonework on the clubhouse. Four layers of ¼” laser cut aluminum plates were utilized to build a 3D version of the shield that acts as the logo for the project. The sign features cedar post and beam supports with flat strap metal hardware to support the signature “1925” in CNC cut raised aluminum numbers.

In the finished product, we see how all the varied elements blend together to create a memorable monument sign that harkens to the past while still maintaining a contemporary feel.

In addition to the monument, we supplied Arrowood with a large temporary announcement sign to detail the project and increase visibility while the development of isunder construction and in the initial offering phase.
